Artist Bio

Johanna Mueller

The prints of Johanna Mueller are imbued with personal mythology as she draws from her own narrative, cultural and historical references, pattern and design, and ancient myth and legend.  The animals in her work are elevated from beast to mythic status as they take on human emotions and become metaphoric portraits of the artist and others.

Johanna Mueller is a native of Denver, Colorado where she attended The Metropolitan State College of Denver and received a BFA in printmaking.  She is currently a candidate for an MFA at George Mason University.  Her work can be found in private collections nationwide, and she has exhibited in various locals in the United States and abroad.
